An Exhibition on the excellence of the Florentine Masters

The Florence Art and Restoration Fair suggests the event promoted by the Confartigianato

AN EXHIBITION ON THE EXCELLENCE OF THE FLORENTINE MASTERS

The Exhibition on the excellence of the Florentine Masters will be held from the 4 to the 17 December 2010, in Florence, at the gallery “Antichità – Via dei Fossi”. The Exhibition entitled “Contiguità creative”, has the main goal to explore the relationship between art and excellence craftsmanship (Via dei Fossi n° 55 r, free entrance).


The Exhibition which has the patronage of the Confartigianato and of the Quartiere 1 of Florence, is based on the works of the artist Carmine Lengua and on a selection of works made by some of the most important Florentine artisans.
From the precious works of the laboratory of the “Moleria Locchi” which since the end of the 19th century, restore and work on crystal objects to the tables by Riccardo Bianchi and by his daughter Gianna, two of the most admired traditional painter of old oil, canvas and wooden paintings.
From the unique works by “Fratelli Traversari”, which create mosaics in Florence since 1870, the only artists together with the Studio Mosaico del Vaticano, who are able to create micromosaics “filati”, to the creation of the goldsmith Paolo Penko, with his 15th century old construction techniques but also with his “hi-tech” jewels.
The frames by the “Bottega d’Arte Maselli”, a well known laboratory export in carving and gilding restoration and the ceramic artworks by the “Ceramiche d’Arte Batignani” of Bagno a Ripoli will also be exhibited.
At the opening ceremony of Saturday 4 December (at 5 p.m. free entrance) attending: professor Ugo Di Tullio, lecturer at theUniversity of Pisa, Maria Cristina de Montemayor, directore of the magazine MCM and Luisa Califano by S.I.P.P.
The Exhibition will be open every day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Info 055.219306.
